Star Bar has boutique accommodation upstairs at 113 Charles Street, in the middle of the Launceston CBD. Rooms come with free WiFi, a television and a refrigerator, with the bar and restaurant downstairs and the whole city on foot.
The pitch is simple. You are in the centre of Launceston, in a heritage building, above a kitchen and a bar, and you do not need a car for any of it. Walk to dinner, walk back up the stairs.
The rooms are done in the same language as the rest of the building: brick, brass, warm light and good linen. Old bones, modern comforts, no attempt to pretend it is 1828 in there.

The location
Everything, on foot
Star Bar is in the middle of the Launceston CBD on Charles Street. The Brisbane Street Mall, Civic Square, City Park, the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, the Princess Theatre and the Albert Hall are all a short walk away, and Cataract Gorge is about a twenty minute walk west.
