A barbecue pizza out of the wood-fired oven at Star Bar Café & Hotel, Launceston

Star Bar serves pub food with a Mediterranean lean, seven days a week: local produce, best parmi in town, pasta and pizza from the wood-fired pizza oven. Lunch runs daily from 11am to 3pm and dinner from 5pm to 8.30pm. Pizza is available to eat in or take away.

Northern Tasmania produces some of Australia's best beef, lamb, pork, seafood and cool-climate produce. We source the best of what's in season and let quality ingredients take centre stage.

The room itself does a lot of the work. Brick, timber and warm light, with the bar noise close enough to feel like you are out and far enough that you can hear each other. It suits a long lunch as well as it suits a Tuesday dinner.
